THE AIR CADETS
 
The Air Cadet Organisation is a national youth organisation, supported by the RAF.  It is open to young people between the ages of 13 and 18 and the aims of the organisation are:
 
  • To promote and encourage a practical interest in aviation and the RAF
  • To provide training which will be useful if both service and civilian life
  • To foster the spirit of adventure and develop leadership and good citizenship

Squadron Parade Nights
 
1769 (THURSO) Squadron meet on Monday and Thursday evenings in the Drill Hall, Princes Street, Thurso (between the BT Engineers Building and Bin Ends).

The Initial Parade is held at 19:30 hrs and the Final Parade is held at 21:30 hrs.
 
The Squadron often also run training activities at weekends and during school holidays.
 

 

 
 Squadron Activities
 
The Squadron is active in Flying & Gliding, Adventure Training, Drill, Marksmanship, First Aid, Duke of Edinburgh Awards, Leadership, Sports and many other activities.
  
Cadets also have the opportunity to apply for Camps at RAF Stations in the UK and abroad, course in activities such as parachuting, skiing, leadership, canoeing and community sports leadership and to take part in gaining BTEC qualifications.
